Going the extra mile.

People rarely get fired for good enough, which is a shame. - Seth Godin

I started school back up this week and I am going to have to constantly remind myself of that principle this semester. In most areas of my life, completing things with a high level of excellence is natural for me. However, in school, there is a tendency for me to do exactly what is required (sometimes sub-par at that) and nothing more. (I’m sure there is some deep psychological reasoning for this, but I’m not smart enough to figure that one out. :) ) This tendency bit me in the rear this past semester and I’ve made several changes - most notably, I’ve changed my major to Business Management

What does this mean for me? I’m taking 22 hours this semester to catch up AND I have to get a 4.0 GPA this semester to boost my GPA. Whew! It is going to be a crazy semester for sure and the only way I am going to fulfill my GPA requirement is by always doing my coursework with perfection and occasionally excellence. “Good enough” is not going to be in my vocabulary, as this is what was my downfall thus far.

Here’s your assignment: The next time you see me, drill me about my coursework. It will keep me on the ball. :)
